NYC weekend

I went to NY this weekend stayed at some hostel. It was overall real cool to be in that city. Outside of the hostel I was just getting my fix of nicotine and I strike up a conversation with a fellow addict-- she was from Italia, the olde country. I asked the usual barrage of questions, is it your first time here, how do you like it so far.. etc etc. For the first time in my life I felt the inferiority of the US. I made a side comment that it was expensive being in this city-- you know what she said? "Its a great time to come to US because it is so cheap to visit here now" In my head I'm thinking oh shit, we're one of THOSE countries now... It kind of gives you perspective of where we stand on a global stand point. Thanks Dubya! I wonder if he even realizes these adversities caused by his war. We are losing troops and credibility, In Turkey, where we use to have almost 100% approval we now have 9% approval.. I'm sure it's less in Iraq. Oil Prices are sky rocketing because of the difficulty the war brings to any business in a war zone. Due to oil costs going up, we look to alternative fuels; namely ethynol which have been taking away crops that should have fed ourselves and livestock, which will consequently increase meat prices, which will result in a shittier economy and more people on the food stamp program. Some comedian once said " I like gov't cheese, matter of fact I prefer it!" so I guess its coo...
On a brighter note NY is photo-op central. I want to post up all the photos I took but that would take too long you guys can go to my Picasa to check em out. The nicest thing that I found to be in NY is not the food, not the people [mos def], not the culture, but Central Park. Because it's like a little sanctuary in the middle of the city... almost like wtf? all these buildings then BAM national forest--ya dont know what hit ya. BTW You guys are lucky these aren't smellographs because the entire city smells like piss... they should rename NYC "The Big Apple" to "America's Urinal." -- no wonder NY's tap waters so "fresh" nobody uses a bathroom there. Why pee in the toilet when you've got a wall?
